Jake Safane, Founder and Managing Member, JournoContent LLC
I'm a freelance journalist and content marketer who helps brands create compelling copy. While I specialize in being a freelance finance writer and freelance sustainability writer, my skills and interests vary widely.
I started my career initially planning to go into sports journalism, but I soon found my way into a reporting role covering custody banking. After some twists and turns that included creating a New York lifestyle blog, I joined The Economist as a thought leadership editor. There, I created sponsored research programs for some of the world's largest brands.
Then, in late 2018, my wife got a job offer in Los Angeles. We decided to leave New York, trading frigid temperatures and crowded subways for palm trees and traffic that's not as bad as I imagined. Since then, I've worked as a freelance writer in LA. I love the flexibility to still be able to write about custody banking and other nuanced areas of finance at times, while also being able to write freelance content on everything from sustainable coffee farming to ESG investing.

If you're looking for freelance writing samples specific to your business, please feel free to reach out. Throughout my career as a freelance finance and sustainability writer in both Los Angeles and New York, I've been fortunate enough to work with a wide range of companies.
Sailor Safane, Head of Barketing
Sailor, a rescue pup, is the real brains behind our freelance writing operations. As you can see, she's an incredibly hard worker...as long as her office is stocked with treats and squeaky toys.
While Sailor's a great coworker, we also enjoy getting to know our freelance clients and collaborating with other freelance writers and marketers.
Feel free to reach out anytime, whether you're looking to work together on a content project or if you simply have questions about what it's like to be a freelance writer in Los Angeles.
